Show/Episode: Sex Education -Season 2, Episode 7

What: The penultimate episode in the second season of a Netflix original show about british teens navigating sexual situations.

Why: I loved this specific episode for one of the main story lines. There are 6 girls in detention and they can’t leave until they find something they all have in common. ***************************************************SPOILERS*****************************************************

One of the characters was sexually assaulted on the bus in a previous episode. She was quietly dealing with the PTSD from that event and it all came to a head in this episode. All the girls realised that they had all experienced unwanted sexual advances, or straight up sexual assault. What they had in common was “Unwanted Dick.”
Detention started with them all hating each other, and ended with them all supporting Aimee, the girl who was assaulted on the bus, and rode with her to school. It was like that scene at the end of The Graduate, but not creepy, depressing, and hopeless. It was empowering and full of strength and love. I was crying while holding a pillow to my chest.
Over all I do love Sex Education, the whole show is amazing, but this episode just really made me happy and feel whole.
