Character: Jaskier (Buttercup, Dandelion)

Who: A fictional Bard, from The Witcher. In the books and video game in English he goes by “Dandelion” because the translation from Polish to English Jaskier means “Buttercup.” Which I personally love.

I have also linked to “Toss a Coin to your Witcher” because, despite this not being the original sung by the beautiful, pie filling filled Joey Batey, it is still a really good version.

Why: Well other than being a non-canonical bi icon, and the never ending sass, and the musical genius, I love Jaskier because he grounds the overly dramatic show into reality and he is just a sweetie. He is always dressed impeccably and he loves frequently as well as deeply. I feel like he has such a sweet soul that just wants to be needed and spread love and as I’m writing this I think I am over identifying with him a little bit.
But really I’m just jealous that he got to rub camomile into Geralt’s ass. it takes a lot to keep this boy down and away. Even after his, rather reserved, best friend tells him his singing is like a pie without filling he still sticks by him and looks out for him. He risks his life for a little adventure with a broody man and dedicates his music to making the world love and adore the misunderstood witcher.

Do I ship Geralt and Jaskier?…Maybe
Are they my OTP? No, I want more for Jaskier. I want him to have someone who is kinder to him. Geralt is constatnly trying to push away Jaskier and I guess I just know what is like to keep being pushed away by a “friend.” But I do still want them to be besties with benefits
