Show: Raised by Wolves

Show: Raised by Wolves

What: A show about six homeschooled siblings in the “midlands” in the UK. They are raised by a single badass mother and accompanied by their very progressive Grampy.

Why: I really needed this show this evening. I got home and cooked and was exhausted. Over the weekend I had watched all of The Witcher and I needed a new show, and one that would make me laugh. Quite honestly I needed a good ol’ fashioned potato chip show (a show that is typically made up of short episodes, but you find yourself not being able to watch just one, because they are simple and easy and lovely).
Every character in this delightful show is bazar, and I say that with all the love. The three older sister have such an amusing dynamic with Germaine being the Lydia Bennet, Aretha being the Daria, and Yoko being the awkward weird shy, accidentally perfect one (like if Mary Bennet’s social traits were mixed with Jane Bennet’s perfection and grace). “The Babies” are adorable and hilarious. They play smaller rolls and have almost no lines, yet the way these children act in this show is akin to Henry Cavill playing Geralt of Rivia (the book Geralt is apparently much more talkative, but Henry Cavill is just so great as face acting they adjusted the character to fit his style). And Despite this show being from 2013, it is very on point whenever the mother, Della, talks about the world ending any day now and needing to be prepared. She doesn’t com off like a crazy person she seems totally sane and, honestly, right.
If you need a laugh check out this strange british gem.
